Ellerman House is a small manor on Kloof Road, not a waterfront hotel. Their published count is 13 rooms and suites in the house, plus Villa One and Villa Two built into the cliff above Bantry Bay. The art collection and the Wine Gallery are in the building. The Atlantic is the view, when the room faces it. Guests under 12 are not booked into the manor. They are booked into a villa, if a villa is free. The V&A is a separate part of Cape Town. Come if you want the sea and the collection, and you can accept how few rooms there are. Skip it if you need a large hotel, or a crib in the main building.

Many rooms face the ocean. Some do not. A Classic House Room is the quieter one, away from the sea-facing rooms. This is Bantry Bay, not the V&A Waterfront. The Waterfront is a drive. Mount Nelson is a different hotel, in the gardens below Table Mountain. Come for the Atlantic and the art. Skip the manor if you are travelling with young children. Ask for a villa instead.
