The place itself

Long Point Eco-Adventures is an all-season eco-tourism resort and retreat centre situated within the UNESCO-designated Long Point Biosphere Reserve in Norfolk County, Ontario. Minutes from Port Dover and Turkey Point Beach on Lake Erie. Founded by Dave Pond and Mike McArthur, the property began as a 37-acre tobacco farm overlooking the Turkey Point Marsh and has been transformed into one of Southern Ontario's most distinctive sustainable tourism destinations. The resort's activity programme combines high-adventure outdoor experiences with genuine ecological education: a Treetop Canopy Adventure with 8 ziplines, 2 suspension bridges, 14 platforms, and a 40-foot rappel through the Carolinian forest; stargazing in an observatory dome; guided kayaking and paddleboarding on the Turkey Point Marsh; mountain biking; axe-throwing; and mushroom foraging. The JORO outdoor sauna and cold plunge programme adds a Nordic-style wellness dimension to what is fundamentally an adventure resort, creating a recovery circuit for bodies that have spent the day in the trees.
