The place itself

Wheelers Pancake House & Maple Sugar Camp is at 1001 Highland Line, McDonalds Corners, ON K0G 1M0. Vernon and Judy Wheeler and family have made maple syrup here since 1980 (family on the land from 1978). The log pancake house opened March 1, 1996 -- built with reclaimed white cedar and timber from their own 730-acre forest, with a stone fireplace from Highland Line rocks and huge windows into the woods. In spring you can watch sap in a clear tube from the dining room. Hours on wheelersmaple.com: 9am-3pm, last seating 2pm. As of Aug 7, 2026 they list Tuesday-Sunday; from September 1 they list Thursday-Sunday. Reservations recommended at wheelersmaple.com/reservation/ or 613-278-2090 (also reservations@wheelersmaple.com). Same hours as the pancake house: sugar camp, Maple Heritage Museum, Forest & Farm Museum, trails, teepee, barnyard, and playground. 2026 maple season listed Mar 8-Apr 14. Food is cooked in an open kitchen and served with their own pure maple syrup; ordering is by menu. Directions: they ask you not to use GPS within 15 km -- follow their signs. Roads are paved except 2 km on Concession 9A from Maberly. Pets: service animals indoors only; leashed pets outdoors. Phone 613-278-2090. Email webinfo@wheelersmaple.com.
