The place itself

Vigilius Mountain Resort stands at 1,500 meters on the Vigiljoch, above Lana in South Tyrol. No road reaches it. The only arrival is by cable car. The hotel looks toward the Dolomites. Owners Ulrich Ladurner and architect Matteo Thun built it under a line they still print: Eco, not ego. Their page says the hotel holds EarthCheck certification and a Michelin Key. There are 41 rooms and suites. The site lists a superior room with garden access, a deluxe room with a balcony, and suites. Glass fronts open onto the mountains. Aquileia Spa covers 1,200 square meters, with a pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath, and a fitness room, plus yoga, Pilates, and guided forest bathing. Massages and face and body treatments are with Team Dr. Joseph. Restaurant 1500 is led by Daniel Sanin.
