Our read

A hotel two kilometres from Mumbai airport is usually a place you endure between flights. ITC Maratha asks to be read differently. It puts 380 rooms on 5.5 acres in Sahar, with a LEED Zero Carbon certificate, and it staffs kitchens that have nothing to do with a terminal: Avartana, Yi Jing, and Dum Pukht. The Maratha court is the design, not a slogan about the city in general. Come if the flight is the reason you are in Andheri, and if you would rather eat properly than drive south for dinner. Skip it if the Gateway, or a walk in Fort, is the morning you booked. Those are a long way from Sahar.

Come here for

  • 380 rooms, 2 kilometres from the international airport, on 5.5 acres
  • Avartana, Yi Jing, or Dum Pukht, instead of a terminal meal
  • A Zero Carbon hotel when the night is really about the flight

Skip it if

  • You wanted Fort or the Gateway as a walk.
  • You want a small hotel. This one prints 380 rooms.

We’d rather send you somewhere else than send you somewhere that doesn’t suit you.

ITC Maratha is at Sahar, Andheri East, Mumbai 400099, and the hotel directory places it 2 kilometres from the international airport. The phone is +91 22 2830 3030. Check-in is 15:00 and checkout is 11:00. The same directory counts 380 guest rooms and suites, from 370 to 2,950 square feet, on 5.5 acres, and says the hotel is LEED Platinum and LEED Zero Carbon. The interiors take the Maratha court as their subject: Peshwa portraits, jali, and a corridor the hotel compares to the arcades of south Bombay. The kitchens that change the stay are Yi Jing, for hand-pulled noodles and dim sum, Avartana, for southern Indian food reworked with other techniques, and Dum Pukht, the slow-cooked royal kitchen in sealed pots. Six restaurants are claimed in the directory. The page does not print a nightly rate. This is an airport hotel only if you ignore the acres and the kitchens. It is not a Colaba hotel, and it is not Parel. Reserve with the hotel. MindReach does not take the booking.
