About the stay

Dimpsey Glamping is Andrew and Emma's luxury shepherd-hut retreat on a small heritage farm near Combe St Nicholas, on the Somerset/Devon border in the Blackdown Hills. The farm is listed in the Domesday Book. They have hosted guests since 2015 and have been named Best Glampsite in Somerset by the Tourism Board two years running. There are three huts, each in its own field: Dimpsey Hither (from £145/night) with a fold-down double bed, en-suite, and a wood-fired hot tub in an open-sided barn; Dimpsey Yonder (from £245/night), a Brace hut with a copper bateau bath at the foot of the bed, stargazer roof panel, and wood-fired hot tub; and Dimpsey Dapple (from £245/night), the spa hut with LED star ceiling, outdoor copper bath and shower, pizza oven, and a private sauna built by Blackdown Shepherd Huts. All sleep 2, with en-suite flushing loos — no compost toilets. The site is adults-only and dog-free (assistance dogs by arrangement). Dimpsey is a West Country word for twilight. There is no Wi-Fi. Logs for burners, hot tubs, and fire pits are included, plus a welcome tea tray and first-night breakfast (eggs, bacon, milk). Treatments can be booked in the on-site treatment room. Are children or dogs allowed?

Is there Wi-Fi?

No. Andrew and Emma say they create a space to just be: no Wi-Fi, wood-fired cooking and hot tub, and a slow-boiling whistling kettle.

What is included in the nightly rate?

Logs for the wood-burner, hot tub (Hither/Yonder) and fire pit, a welcome tea tray, and eggs, bacon, and milk for the first breakfast. Farm meat and pizza packs can be added. 25% deposit on booking, 75% four weeks before stay.

Can I book a treatment or farm food?

Yes. Treatments can be booked in advance with their therapist in the on-site treatment room. Farm sausages, burgers, steak, eggs, breakfast hampers, and pizza packs are listed on the hut pages.
