Songtsam Lodge Tacheng sits among Qibie and Hada villages on a terrace above the Lapu river, in Weixi, Diqing, northwest Yunnan. The official English page places it between the Yangtze and the Mekong, about a three to four hour drive from Shangri-La, at a more comfortable altitude than the high lodges. Rooms in the main building face terraced rice fields and mountains. There are 20 rooms: deluxe rooms of 25 to 33 square metres, and deluxe suites of 40 to 50 square metres.
