Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center
Most Beijing hotel pages still point you at the Forbidden City, the lakes, or a park in the west. Yansha does something plainer, and more useful. It puts 480 rooms on the Liangma River, in Chaoyang, and it puts a Paulaner brewery in the building next to Dragon Palace and Via Roma. The rooftop pool is part of that same claim: you are here for the river and the district, not for a dawn walk on the wall. Come if Chaoyang is the actual plan, a meeting, an embassy day, a long dinner that can stay indoors. Skip it if the morning you wanted is Jingshan or a hutong. The hotel's own line, Step into Imperial Luxury, is a design mood. The river is the fact that changes the car.
