Hotel Antumalal

They place the house on Lago Villarrica, in a private park of five hectares, two kilometres from the centre of Pucón. They say Guillermo Pollak and Catalina Rindler arrived from Czechoslovakia in 1938 and built the hotel, and they describe the architecture as Bauhaus. The photographs are the wing itself, glass and stone over a red plinth in the grass, the indoor pool with the mountains through the glass, the restaurant with araucaria walls and a planted run down the floor, a lounge of stone and leather chairs, a bedroom lined in vertical timber, and a sitting room at dusk with the lake in the window. They say the spa, Antumaco, is carved in rock, and that the word means a place of sun and water. The restaurant, Parque Antumalal, has been here since 1950, in their wording.
