Lapinha SPA sits on Estrada da Lapa, Km 16, in Lapa, Paraná. The English about page names it as the inaugural medical spa in Brazil, opened in 1972 by Margarida Bornschein Langer as Lar Lapeano de Saúde, on an organic farm beside native subtropical forest. The same page names Dieter and Margareth Brepohl and their daughters Christiane, Marianne and Gabriela as the third and fourth generations who run it. One hundred and seventy people work there.
