## Our read

A named exclusive-rights pourvoirie on the edge of La Vérendrye, with eight lake and river chalets, published hunt and fish packages, and a real forest-road approach from the 117. The page belongs because the territory and the rates are specific, not generic Quebec wilderness copy.

## The place

Pavillon La Vérendrye is an exclusive-rights pourvoirie on the edge of Réserve faunique La Vérendrye in western Quebec. The territory covers about 150 square kilometres with 23 hunting zones. It sits roughly 400 km from Montreal, 650 km from Quebec City, and 160 km from Maniwaki. GPS: N 46°55'24" / W 77°16'21". Registration 850197. Access is by road: Highway 117 to Lac Rolland campground then forest road 20 West (about 89 km), or Highway 117 to Lac Larouche then forest road 28 West (about 89 km). Getting there is part of the stay. This is not a roadside lodge. Eight fishing and hunting chalets sit on lakes and the Coulonge River: Henri, Coulonge, Du Guerny, Malone, and Pratt. Cabins have indoor toilet, shower and hot water, wood stove, fridge, propane stove, and a screened fish house for cleaning catch without mosquitoes. Rooms are also available in the main pavilion, which has a bar with a large screen. Cabins sit from about five to forty-five minutes from the main lodge. Published packages cover black bear (15 May to 30 June), moose, small game, walleye and pike fishing with boat and fuel included, and snowmobile relay stays with lunch or chalet half-board. Book and ask questions through pavillonlaverendrye2016@gmail.com or 819-435-2133. Ask for Tristano.
