## Our read

What stood out at Torfhús Retreat was the line of turf houses, not a lodge with a view attached. At Dalsholt, outside Selfoss, the roof is the landscape, and that form is the stay.

## Come here for

- The south of Iceland
- A turf house in the snow

## Skip it if

- You want a city
- You want a beach hotel

## The place

Torfhús Retreat is at Dalsholt, 806 Selfoss, Iceland. The contact page prints that place, the telephone +354 788 8868, and booking@torfhus.is. Book on torfhus.is. The rate for a night is on their site. The photographs are the turf houses in the snow, the same houses from the grass, a window onto the white plain, the houses in a long line, a wood bedroom, and a table set with glass. Torfhús Retreat is one stay at Dalsholt, with its own desk. The other frames are the window, the bedroom, and the table.
