## Our read

What stood out at NIHI was the beach at Wanokaka, not a pool deck that could be anywhere. The horses run the sand, the thatch looks over the bay, and the treehouse is in the palms. You go to Sumba for that coast.

## The place

NIHI Sumba is at Hoba Wawi, Wanokaka, West Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara 87272. The site prints that address. Write reservations@nihi.com. The reservations line they print is +62 811 3821 2910. Book on nihi.com. The rate for a night is on their site. The photographs are horses running the beach, a thatched roof and a pool above the turquoise bay, a long coast, a treehouse in the palms at dusk with a fire by the water, and the villas in the trees. NIHI Sumba is one resort on that coast, with its own desk. The other frames are the bay, the treehouse, and the villas.
