Haikou is the north coast of Hainan, and this hotel is on Binhai Avenue rather than a private beach. The three reasons to stay are stacked in the building: T'ang Court for Cantonese with the skyline, Liquary for a drink on the 43rd floor, and Atelier for dinner beside the pool. The tea is Palm Court. None of that is the Shanghai T'ang Court, which has two Michelin stars. Come if Haikou itself is the trip and you want those three rooms. Skip it if you came for Dadonghai or for a starred kitchen. Those are other hotels.
