Iguaçu is a day trip for almost everyone who stays in Foz or Puerto Iguazú. Hotel das Cataratas is the exception, because it is the only hotel on the Brazilian side inside the national park. The 176 rooms matter less than the hours: early and late access to the falls, when the day visitors have not arrived or have already left. Restaurant Y and Ipê mean you can eat without leaving the park. Come if that timing is the reason to cross the river. Skip it if you wanted the Argentine trails as your morning, or a city hotel with restaurants down the street. The drive from Foz airport is about 30 minutes. The Argentine airport is longer.
